Department Overview

The Office of the Comptroller supervises the receipt, collection and disbursement of all City revenue by keeping the accounts and records of all City transactions. The Comptroller oversees the Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Payroll units of the Department. Fixed asset inventory, government tax returns and employee pension deductions and benefits are also functions managed by this Office. The Comptroller oversees that all City expenditures are properly appropriated in the budget and prepares all budgetary and other financial reports to the Mayor and City Council.

To oversee all assigned financial activities within the City and to assist the administration in the overall financial management of the City of Granite City with the utmost integrity, and to the highest of ethical and professional standards.
