November 21, 2009: Santa's Holiday Avenue Parade

The Santa's Holiday Avenue Parade is Saturday November 21, 2009 at 1:00 PM. The parade starts at City Hall and goes down Madison Ave. to 27th Street. It will end at the Niedringhaus School. Santa's House will open December 3rd, 2009, at Bellemore Village Shopping Center in front of Glik's.

October 31, 2009: Trick or Treating hours

August 14, 2008: Recycle Used Printer Cartridges and Cell Phones

Granite City High School is collecting empty ink-jet cartridges, laser printer toner cartridges and discarded cell phones. They can be dropped off at the Granite City High School Guidance Department or any other participating partner. Recycling Partners can be easily identified by their “Green Warrior” decal. September 3,2008 Fill give away

The Granite City Public Works Department will be giving away free fill. This in not "clean fill". It is on a first come first served basis. For more information contact the Public Works Director at 618-452-6215.

These are the dates of the upcoming movies under the stars. Residents have the chance to spend time with family and friends and watch a free movie in the park.

September 27, 2008 Old Paint Collection

Recycle your old paint. Free for all Madison County residents at the Madison County Woodriver Facility 101 E. Edwardsville rd. Woodriver, IL. Saturday, September 27th from 8am to 3pm.

November 2, 2008: End of Daylight Savings Time

Don't forget to set your clock back one hour at 2am on Sunday, November 2. This is also a good time to change the battery in your smoke detector.

December 9, 2007: Open House at the Old Six-Mile Museum

The Old Six-Mile Museum at 3279 Maryville Rd. will be hosting an open house from 1:00-4:00p on Sunday, December 9th. They are located near the intersection of Maryville Rd. and Stratford Ln.

July 26, 2007: Municipal Code Now Available Online!

The Granite City Municipal Code is now available for review on the web. It can be found under the "City Council Resources" Section which is located under "City Hall". You may also link to it directly by clicking here. The Zoning Code, however, can not be found under the "Municipal Code" section of the website. For the Zoning Code, please click here.

July 15, 2007: Granite City Launches Official Website!

Today, Granite City officially launched its municipal website. The site contains many features, including everything from information on upcoming road construction projects to zoning codes to direct access to your elected officials. Please be patient as we are continually adding new features and information to the site as we progress.
