Biography
Gail ValleTreasurer
Gail Valle is a life long resident of Granite City. She was hired by the City of Granite City in 1978 to work in the City Clerk’s Office. She transferred to the City Treasurer’s Office in 1984 and became Deputy Treasurer in 1987. Gail was appointed City Treasurer in November 1987 to complete the term of the late Nick Petrillo. That term ended in April 1989, at which time she ran in her first election and succeeded. Since then Gail has been re-elected in 1993, 1997, 2001, 2005, and 2009. She is an member of the Granite City Rotary Club, Illinois Municipal Treasurer’s Association, AmVet’s Post 51 and Eagles Auxiliary. Gail continues to attend Illinois Municipal Treasurer Association education classes. She is a certified Municipal Treasurer through the Illinois Municipal Treasurers Association. She has completed her certification every five years as required by the Illinois Municipal Treasurers Association.
Gail is married to John Valle and they live and work in Granite City. She has two adult children, Mathew and John Jr. who reside in Granite City.
Gail uses her vast knowledge and 30+ years of Municipal work experience to assist her in updating her office. She believes in providing a user-friendly atmosphere for all customers. She has implemented the Direct Debit and Credit Card payment options for the convenience of all citizens. Customer Service and friendly professional assistance is her number one priority.
