Becoming a victim of crime can happen to anyone, anywhere. Those unfortunate persons who experience the trauma of being victimized are often frightened or intimidated by their attackers, and may be afraid to report the crime or to ask for help. They may have many questions, and may be uncertain as to what they can do to help get their life back on track and where to go to get the help they need.

Therefore, it is the goal of the Granite City Police Department to provide resources and support to those who have been victimized to help them get back to life as normal as quickly as possible.
