Jonathan Ferry
Economic Development Director
A lifelong resident of Granite City, Jon graduated from Granite City High School in 2001. Then, after attending Southern Illinois University Edwardsville for four years, he graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Bachelor’s of Science in Economics & Finance in 2005. Following graduation, he began an internship working as a research assistant for the Economic Development Department of the St. Louis Regional Chamber & Growth Association. Concurrently, Jon furthered his education by pursuing his Master’s degree in Economics & Finance at SIUE. He completed this degree in 2006.
While at SIUE, Jon earned many academic awards, including the following:

Following his education, he was appointed as the Economic Development Director in 2006 and is the first person to serve in this position since 2002. He is committed to putting his greatest effort into leading new growth and revitalization in Granite.
