When is an inspection required for...
EXCAVATION
- inspection required before concrete poured & sealed.

FOOTING
- inspection must be made before back filling.

UNDER FLOOR PLUMBING
- before rock fill and concrete floor

ROUGH PLUMBING
- before insulation and after all traps, vents, water lines, and drains are installed

ROUGH WIRING
– before device installation and after all electric lines run and boxes are installed

ROUGH FRAMING
– before insulating, drywall or lathing and after plumbing, wiring, heat ducts & fireplaces are installed

DRYWALL/LATH
– after drywall but before it is taped or plastered

MECHANICAL
– after ducts, fireplaces, heating and cooling installed

SEWER HOOK UP
– after line run but before backfill, sewer tap location must be pre-approved

ELECTRICAL HOOK UP
– after service entrance is installed

FINISHED PLUMBING
– after all other plumbing work

FINAL INSPECTION
– after structure is completely finished and before it is used or occupied

APPROVAL OF ANY PLANS OR SPECIFICATIONS BY THE CITY BUILDING & ZONING STAFF IS NOT TO BE INTERPRETED AS FULL COMPLIANCE WITH THE BUILDING CODE. IT IS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE APPLICANT TO ENSURE THAT ALL PROVISIONS OF ZONING & BUILDING CODES ARE COMPLIED WITH DURING CONSTRUCTION.

IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO USE OR OCCUPY NEW STRUCTURES BEFORE FINAL INSPECTIONS AND UNTIL A CERTIFICATE OF USE & OCCUPANCY HAS BEEN ISSUED.
