The Granite City Park district has Movies Under the Stars which is a movie series shown at Wilson Park. Movies will run on given Fridays in the summer. Movies are shown in the outfield of Sykes Field and are free to the public. Please call the main office for the specific dates. 618-877-3059
The Granite City Park District also hosts Big Band Concerts at Wilson Park in the Centennial Pavilion beginning at 7:30 pm on various Thursday nights throughout the summer. Concerts are free to the public. More details are available at the Park Board Office.
The “Patriots in the Park” 4th of July celebration is one of the best in the St Louis area. This weekend long event includes an auto show, carnival with food, live entertainment, rides and ends with a spectacular fireworks display. Alfresco Productions presents The Melting Pot Market on the second Saturday of each month from May through October. The Melting Pot Market is a European style, open air market with an urban flair in historic downtown Granite City. Previous markets have had over 80 vendors, live music and fabulous food. There are several parades in Granite City including:
The baseball parade which features all the teams that play ball for the Granite City Park District.Contact the Park District for date.
The Granite City High School Homecoming Parade.On Labor Day there is a parade featuring the local unions.
This parade is always on Labor Day at 10 am.
Santa's Holiday Avenue provides the Santa parade always held the Saturday before Thanksgiving. This year it will be on November 17th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. and will be followed by Santa's Holiday Ave Chili Cook-Off and the Holiday Festival Downtown. Vendors, Food Trucks, Music and lots of free stuff for kids of all ages. Parade goes on rain, snow or shine. In the case of extreme weather, we will relocate the Chili Cook-off and Vendors to the Granite City Township Hall at 2060 Delmar Ave.
