Mary Wofford
Ward 4 Councilmember
Councilwoman Wofford has been a member of the City Council since January 2006, when she was appointed by Mayor Ed Hagnauer to take the place of her husband, Leo Wofford, who passed away in December 2005. She then ran for re-election in 2007 and won. Since her appointment, she has also been selected to be a member of the following five different City Council Committees: Street & Alley, Police, Insurance & Safety, City Hall & Buildings and Wastewater Treatment.
Her husband Leo was appointed as an alderman in 1998 by Mayor Selph to replace Nancy Sanders. Leo then went on to win separate bids for re-election in 1999 and again in 2003.
Councilwoman Wofford will be up for re-election in 2011.
